FIREFIGHTER POSITIONS:

THE ELOY FIRE DISTRICT accepts applications for Recruit Firefighter-EMT/Paramedic and Firefighter-EMT/Paramedic on an ongoing basis. Applications are kept on file for ninety (90) days. At present, there are no vacant positions for full-time firefighters.

Minimum qualifications for Recruit Firefighter-EMT/Paramedic: AZ state certified EMT/Paramedic; high school diploma or GED; valid Arizona driver’s license; and must be able to complete Firefighter I/II certification within district timeline.

Minimum qualifications for Firefighter/EMT or Paramedic: state certified EMT or Paramedic; high school diploma or GED; valid Arizona driver’s license; state certified Firefighter I/II.

APPRENTICESHIP POSITIONS:

The Eloy Fire District is now accepting applications for the Firefighter Apprenticeship Program. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to begin their firefighting career by gaining hands-on experience and training alongside seasoned professionals. Applications are kept on file for ninety (90) days. Please note, there are no immediate full-time firefighter positions available.

Minimum Qualifications for the Firefighter Apprenticeship Program:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license.
  • Strong interest in firefighting and emergency services.
  • Successful completion of a physical ability test, written exam, and interview.
  • Required HIPAA training and vaccinations before engaging in EMS duties.

As an apprentice, you’ll have the chance to earn Firefighter I and II certifications through accredited institutions, while gaining invaluable, hands-on experience working directly with career firefighters. This 1-2 year program includes structured training and mentoring, with apprentices working 12-24 hour shifts in a variety of fire service roles, including emergency response, station maintenance, and community outreach. EMT instruction is also provided for those not already certified.
